DJI introduces the Phantom 4 Multispectral, aimed at precision agriculture and land management. According to the drone manufacturer, this will be its first drone with an integrated multispectral camera, built with the aim of helping to solve the current problems farmers face in a more efficient way.

DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral

DJI,
the undisputed leader in civil drones and aerial imaging technology, is setting a new standard for easy-to-use agricultural drones with the Phantom 4 Multispectral, the company's first drone to already integrate a high-quality multispectral camera and combine it with RTK technology for more accurate data.

Phantom 4 Multispectral combines data from its six individual sensors to provide a representation of crop health, from individual plants to entire fields, as well as weeds, pests and a wide range of soil conditions. With the agricultural drone market expected to grow from $1.2bn in 2019 to $4.8bn by 2024, the P4 Multispectral provides farmers and agronomists with a new tool to improve crop yields, reduce costs and help environmental professionals easily monitor the vegetation on the land they manage.

"Phantom 4 Multispectral has the promise to transform the agriculture and land management industries by collecting accurate plant-level data without having to send staff into the field to conduct manual surveys," said Jan Gasparic, Director of Strategic Partnerships at DJI. "By combining multispectral imaging into one reliable, efficient and affordable tool, DJI is making this transformative technology more accessible to professionals around the world who are pioneering drone adoption in their industries."

Accurate multispectral imaging

P4 Multispectral features a gimbal-stabilised camera system, this system is comprised of an RGB camera and a multispectral camera array with five narrowband sensors - including red-edge and near-infrared - that are capable of capturing light visible and invisible to the human eye. This data provides trained professionals with unique insights into vegetation stress, soil composition, water salinity and pollution. Thanks to an additional integrated sunlight sensor, the phantom 4 multispectral maximises the accuracy and consistency of data collection during successive missions regardless of the time of day.

Thanks to the DJI Ground Station Pro flight planning application, pilots can switch between RGB and NDVI video camera views in real time to get an immediate view of the field situation. This model integrates an RTK positioning module and the TimeSync system which provides accurate, real-time positioning data for each image, optimising photogrammetric results and providing accurate centimetre-level measurements.
Industry workflow compatibility

P4 Multispectral is compatible with industry standard workflows, including flight scheduling, mapping and analysis software from DJI and other leading vendors. Using the DJI GS Pro application, users can create automated and repeatable missions, including flight planning, mission execution and flight data management. Collected data can be easily imported into DJI Terra or a suite of third-party software, including Pix4D Mapper and DroneDeploy, for analysis and to generate additional vegetation index maps. In addition, Phantom 4 Multispectral users can enhance RTK positioning accuracy without the need for an internet connection by using DJI's high-precision D-RTK 2 mobile GNSS station, which is compatible with all major satellite navigation systems worldwide, or by using a third-party RTK network via an internet-connected iPad.

Powerful performance

Built on the proven Phantom airframe, the Phantom 4 Multispectral takes advantage of DJI's powerful OcuSync transmission system to deliver a smooth flight experience, with less signal interference, improved video transmission and a maximum transmission range of 7km(FCC). Each of its 2-megapixel cameras features a global shutter for sharp in-flight images, up to 27 minutes per battery.
Live RGB and NDVI imaging

DJI P4 Multispectral allows you to switch between NDVI analysis and RGB imaging in real time, making it easy to make decisions as you fly.

DJI Agras MG-1

The payload of MG-1 is 10L,one battery is enough to spray 1 tank, which consumes 8-12 minutes.

Each battery can cover 6,000-10,000m2 .

So , in one hour, MG-1 can cover 24,000-40,000 m2. And 4 batteries is needed.

The voltage of Spain is 230V which is pretty much the same as China, then one charger can charge 2 batteries at the same time. In fast mode, it needs half an hour, while in normal mode, one hour is needed.

So people usually prepare 8 batteries for non stopped operation of MG-1.

The DJI Agras MG-1 is an octocopter designed for precision variable rate application of liquid pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides, bringing new levels of efficiency and manageability to the agricultural sector.

MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

The powerful propulsion system enables the MG-1 to carry up to 10kg of liquid payloads, including pesticide and fertilizer. The combination of speed and power means that an area of 4,000-6,000 m² can be covered in just 10 minutes, or 40 to 60 times faster than manual spraying operations. The intelligent spraying system automatically adjusts its spray according to the flying speed so that an even spray is always applied. This way, the amount of pesticide or fertilizer is precisely regulated to avoid pollution and economize operations.

RELIABILITY AND LONGEVITY

Equipment used in plant protection operations is susceptible to dust and corrosion, leading to high cost of maintenance and shortened lifespans. To counteract degradation, the MG-1 is designed with a sealed body and an efficient, integrated centrifugal cooling system. As it flies, the surrounding air enters the aircraft body via the front inlet, equipped with a triple filter system that keeps dust and particulate matter from entering. The air then passes through each of the aircraft’s arms to the motors, capturing heat from all components and the entire structure before exiting and dissipating the heat to the surrounding air. The combination of cooling and filtering increases the expected lifespan of each motor by up to three times.

ACCURATE SPRAYING

Spray nozzles can be chosen according to the properties of each liquid to optimize atomization, energy efficiency and the amount of liquid sprayed. The included ceramic nozzle is resistant to wear and can be used for thousands of hours of effective spraying without degradation. In total, the MG-1 has four nozzles, each placed directly below a motor. The downward airflow generated by the propellers accelerates the spray, increasing its reach.

All round Spraying

EASE OF USE

The advanced flight controller integrated with the aircraft instantly and precisely responds to the pilot’s input. Choose between three flight modes: Smart mode, Assisted mode and Manual mode, according to terrain and the specific needs of each mission.

Under Smart mode, the flight can be easily planned with the press of a few buttons, without the need for mapping knowledge or other software, making the MG-1 not only the most efficient but also the most easy to use spraying solution. In Assisted mode, the aircraft performs the same turns at the press of a button as it does automatically under the Smart mode, allowing for planning to be done on the fly for fields of irregular shape. Under Manual mode, the pilot freely navigates the aircraft.

INTELLIGENT MEMORY

The MG-1 automatically records its current and remembers its past coordinates as it makes its way across the field. In case the operation is interrupted, for example due to depleted battery or spraying liquid, flight easily be resumed from the last point in its memory after changing the battery or refilling its tank.

FOLDABLE DESIGN

The MG-1 design is based on a Y-type folding structure that can be installed without the use of any additional tools. Motor arms fold inwards making the aircraft compact and easy to transport, for example in the trunk of a car. Made from high-strength carbon fiber materials, the body frame is light yet durable and able to withstand the harshest conditions.

TERRAIN FOLLOW

By integrating a microwave radar together with the MG-1's intelligent flight control system, the aircraft is able to scan the below terrain in real-time, and adjust to keep a constant, centimeter accurate, height above crops. Spray density is maintained even as the terrain rises and drops, so that the optimal amount of liquid is applied at all times.

DEDICATED REMOTE CONTROLLER

The dedicated remote controller is equipped with the latest Lightbridge 2 transmission system which enables ultra low-latency controls. Like the aircraft body, the remote is designed with water and dust protection. A special low-energy display panel gives real-time flight information and is able to last over extended periods of time on a single charge. Together with the highly responsive joysticks and convenient function keys, mastering the art of agricultural spraying is made easier than ever before.

Drone Technical Inspection Inspire 2

A DETAILED AND SEALED REPORT OF EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE IS ISSUED BY THE OFFICIAL DJI CENTER.

ITD: Drones Technical Inspection

According to the current regulations of AESA (Article 50, 3.d.5 and 50.6) and as indicated in Appendix H, it is necessary that all remotely piloted aircraft have a periodical review within the periods recommended by the manufacturer and at most every 12 months.

The maintenance service of the equipment consists of:

1. Technical review of workshop where the status is checked:

    Chassis and structure
    Variators
    Motors
    Propellers
    IMU
    Optical positioning system
    Camera
    Stabilizer
Battery (only DJI smart batteries where only the state of the charges and the elements are checked)
    Updates and configurations
Calibration of transmitter, voltage and emission quality

2. Test Flight consists of checking the equipment in flight:

    Video verification
    Telemetry check
    Radio control communication
    Flight modes
    RTH (Return home automatic)
    GPS position maintenance

* You must select in the form of shipping with the purchase of this article "shipping codes and drones maintenance" and you will be sent an excel file that you will have to resend filled out.

** Stockrc only certifies the correct functioning of the equipment, in no case will be responsible
of damages suffered for reasons beyond the ITD review.

*** The revisions of the equipment do not imply an extension in the warranty of the product.

****IMPORTANT: If the result of the ITD is not positive, the customer will be offered two options:

- Return the equipment to the customer and the money, deducting 1 hour of labor for overhaul and the implicit shipping costs.

- Send the equipment for repair: In this case, the customer would be informed of how to proceed.
